Google Local Panels shows return policies – On Google local panels, you will now see any store’s return policy. It will likely trigger for the larger stores. The policies that appear on the Google local panels come from a business’s web site, whereas some are entered in manually, which is probably through Google My Business. Business owners may think that Google is scraping the content from the business website but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Google search console’s search analytics API – There has been chatter about the 16 months’ worth of data that was mentioned about 6 months ago. Well now it is finally being rolled out; 16 months’ worth of data, not only in the Google Search Console beta, but also in the Search Analytics API within Google Search Console.

So webmasters, developers can get their Search Analytics data from Google Search Console programmatically using the API with the benefit of going back 16 months as before it was only 3 months of data.

Updates on privacy controls – Google announced that they are going to redesign the Google Account that will give users clearer access to their privacy controls and settings. The product manager of Google Account, said that they will roll out the design soon. However, only Android users will see them right away, whereas iOS and web users will see the new interface later this year.

One of the more obvious changes to the Google Account is the addition of horizontal navigation tabs that makes it easier to access, this includes the surface user controls on data and personalization, security and privacy.

Bing Updates

Visual search ads now support your camera and photos – Bing has rolled a new feature for Visual search ads where you can add you photos and use your camera on your device. This feature comes in handy when you are on the go and see a landmark, you can simply take a photo using one of the Bing apps or upload a picture from your camera roll. Then Bing should return more information about what you are looking at.

Enhanced targeting settings and dimensions tab with Bing Ads – Bing Ads has launched enhancements to the targeting settings and dimensions tab that allow you to manage your targeting in bulk. This shows you performance metrics inline through new location targeting, ad schedule targeting, and device targeting settings.
