Google has been testing the always open search tools options – They have for a while now had a ‘tools’ feature where if you do a search and you want to filter the search results by more options (for example time or type of result), you can simply click on ‘tools’ to show the filter options. Now it seems that Google is testing removing the requirement to click on the ‘tools’ to toggle on these options.

Google ads report editor data selection panel update – They have updated the report editor to make it easier to build reports and analyse your data within the tool. Below is the list of changes made to the Google Ads Report Editor.

  • The panel is on the right side of the report editor, which gives you more space to work in your report.
  • You can quickly find data fields for your report with a search function, and add or remove them with a drag and drop experience.
  • You can chart icons have been added to help you visualize, pick, and configure the right chart for your report.

The search giant has also added new features that help you format, filter, and sort your report data. And with conditional formatting, you can create rules to help you visualize your data, like changing a cell’s background colour when it contains a specific value. In addition, you can now filter and sort your data with new dropdown menus for each field.

Google to stop supported data-vocabulary – It has been reported that Google will stop the support for data-vocabulary.org back in April last year but they then pushed it off to June. However, that came and went and Google still supported it a couple of weeks ago. Now it seems that it will officially stop by end of January 2021.

The search giant mentions on social media to take note that from January 31, 2021 http://data-vocabulary.org markup will stop being eligible for Google search result features and enhancements. This means that this markup will stop being eligible for Google search result features and enhancements. They advise that users should update their markup following the instructions in Google’s post.

Google ads have added a new add-on for Google sheets & Link to ads data hub – They have rolled out two new features for managing your data outside of Google Ads. There is a new Google Ads add-on now available for Google Sheets and also now a way to link your Google Ads account to Ads Data Hub directly in the interface.

  • Google Ads Add-On For Google Sheets – With this new add-on it will help you create custom reports using your Google Ads data. To get this add on, you can simply go to Google sheets and select “Get add-ons” under the Add-ons dropdown in Google Sheets, and then search for “Google Ads” in the G Suite Marketplace. Then, click on the entry for Google Ads and hit the “Install” button.
  • Link Google ads account to ads data hub – They have also mentioned about a new option to link your Google Ads account to Ads Data Hub directly in the interface. The ads data hub, is a cloud-based solution that enables customized analysis of your Google ad campaigns while protecting user privacy. So this lets you see your data across Google ad products like Google Ads, campaign manager etc. You’ll need administrative access to a Google Ads account.
