Google Ads can now auto apply recommendations & new recommendations for Discovery Campaigns – On Google Ads, you can now automatically apply recommendations at scale. Moreover, Google Discovery campaigns now support recommendations and Google added more tools for your video ad campaigns.

  • Auto Apply Recommendations – It now allows you to automatically apply recommendations in Google Ads manager accounts. The search giant mentions that this makes it easier for you to manage and identify opportunities for growth across multiple manager accounts. Google now offers around 22 different recommendations to apply automatically, which includes:
  1. Improve your responsive search ads to show more relevant messages to your customers.
  2. Upgrade your conversion tracking for more accurate conversion measurement.

So if you choose to turn this feature on, Google automatically applies your selected types of recommendations as new opportunities are available. Keep in mind that you can change these selections or turn them off at any time.

  • Recommendations & Optimisation Scores for Discovery Campaigns – Google offers both optimisation score and recommendations for other campaigns but now you can see recommendations and an optimization score for your Google Ads Discovery campaigns with this update.

Similarly to other Google Ads campaign types, your optimisation score will range from 0% to 100%, with 100% meaning your Discovery campaigns are set to perform at its full potential. These recommendations are an easy way to help you follow the best practices that drive maximum impact, which includes:

  1. Fix your disapproved assets to show them in your ads.
  2. Get more conversions by showing your ads to additional customers.
  3. Use optimized targeting to get more conversions at a similar cost.
  • Google Video Campaigns Updates – Google Ads has added more recommendations to video campaigns, which includes:
  1. Set up product feeds to help you get more clicks and conversions at a lower CPA.
  2. Set up Google Analytics 4 to give you deeper, cross-platform customer insights.
  3. Upgrade your conversion tracking for more accurate conversion measurement.

Google Local Pack listen & translate feature – It seems that Google is testing a feature to help searchers listen to how to pronounce a company name with a microphone icon. Google is also testing in that local pack a “translate more” link. Although I cannot replicate this, there has been chatter around this subject on social media.

Google buying guides in search results – Google seems to be testing enhanced buying guides in the search results. Although I can’t replicate it right now, basically this “buying guide” in Google Search lets you really drill into the options around what products you can buy based on your query.
