Google’s new URL inspection tool on Search Console – Google rolled out a new feature in the beta Google Search Console called the URL inspection tool. This URL inspection tool basically gives an understanding into a specific single URL on how Google indexed that page. It will provide detailed crawl, index, and serving information about your pages, directly from the Google index. The information it provides include AMP errors, structured data errors, and indexing issues.

Rebranding of Google AdWords – After 17 years or so, Google said that they will be rebranding their AdWords, to Google Ads. They launched AdWords back in 2000 around October, and was the driving force behind Google’s profits and power. They mention that they are simplifying their products for advertisers and publishers of all sizes, so that the advertisers and publishers can more easily reach consumers anywhere, at any moment and on any channel.

They say that mid-July you will start to see the new Google Ads brand, including the new name and logo, reflected in the product interface, help centre, billing documents, and other locations. In order to access your account, the URL will be changing from adwords.google.com to ads.google.com, and the help centre will change from support.google.com/adwords to support.google.com/google-ads.

Chromecast and Google not functioning – On Google’s twitter account and product forums, they mention that their Chromecast and Google Home devices worldwide are not functioning for many users. When a user asks Google home a question, it won’t help you and as this has been happening Google apologises for this problem they are trying to resolve.

Smart Campaigns for small businesses – Google rolls out the Smart Campaigns specifically for small businesses. The new Smart Campaigns, type in Google Ads are designed for small and local businesses that don’t have dedicated marketing staff and may not even have websites.

The Smart Campaigns is the default campaign type for new advertisers in Google Ads. They said that the campaigns are almost entirely automated, from ad creatives to delivery optimization. This is also based on the product or service being advertised and the goal the advertiser sets. The campaign goals include phone calls, website visits and requests for directions.

Bing Updates

Bing said that it will be launching automated extensions that are powered based off of AI, artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence helps Bing analyse large amounts of data and find more effective ways to increase your text ads with extensions for improved visibility and increased performance, with no action required from you, which will create your automated extensions.

Bing’s automated extensions support these formats Automated Location Extensions, Consumer Ratings, Dynamic Ad Enhancements, Dynamic Callouts, Dynamic Partner Data Enhancements, Dynamic Sitelinks, Dynamic Structured Snippets, Longer Ad Headlines, Previous Visits and Seller Ratings.
