Google rich results shows Google Home & Smart Display – They have mentioned on social media that their rich results test now show you how your recipe mark up looks in Google Search as well as on Google Home devices and smart displays. You can see in the footer of this image that it shows a “preview in” and you can select Google Home Hub. If you can’t see it then you can try this yourself by trying the test URL and clicking on the assistant recipe guidance overview.

Google dictionary search results has added images – They are starting to add images in their dictionary results. This means that they define a word as well as showing images of what that word means.

Google ads limits targeting & content options for political ads – Google has said that they will soon implement new limitations on what you can use Google Ads for with political ads. They mention specifically that the targeting options have been limited to age, gender, and general location. They have also updated their definition of political ads.

Google prohibits ads with doctored and manipulated media, misleading claims about the census process, and ads or destinations making demonstrably false claims that could significantly undermine participation or trust in an electoral or democratic process.

Google ads tests car rental ad unit – You may have recently seen a new Google Ad format for car rentals. With the new ad unit, it will let you compare prices from different car rental companies for a specific location through a pricing carousel. In order to do this, you simply enter the location, car type, and dates and Google will show you pricing options in the ad.

Filter added to Google search console performance results – They have added a new search appearance filter to their search console performance reports that is for product results. So if you use product rich result markup on any of your pages, then you will be eligible to see this data in search console.

So what is product rich results? This is when you see various products within the search results that has stars, ratings, pricing, and other enhanced snippet information. How do you find product results? If you would like to access and see the clicks/impressions for those types of results, then you simply go to the performance report, click on search appearance, and then select product results.

Google has new hotel features & filters with hover overlays – Whether you follow the Google hotel user interfaces or not, Google is always testing new interfaces for the Google hotel. They have seen testing out new features for a couple of week and you may see a lot of new features, from map overlay hovers to a massive number of new filters to find the perfect hotel.
