Google showing ‘on time delivery & order accuracy’ estimates in search ads – Google now shows the on-time delivery percentages and order accuracy percentages in some of the Google Ads search listings. Although this shouldn’t come as a surprise because Google Merchant Center has been offering e-commerce sites to pass along that data to them for some time now.

Google ads ‘similar audiences segments’ will be going away next year – Google has mentioned that the similar audiences segments will no longer be available. Around May 2023 the new similar audiences segments will no longer be generated in Google Ads and in August 2023 existing similar audiences segments will be removed from Google Ads. The historical reporting will still be available for an undefined amount of time.

Google mentions that they will gradually transition similar audiences to more powerful and durable automated solutions, this is to help you connect with relevant audiences and unlock growth, while meeting people’s expectations for privacy. Below is the transition timeline:

  • From May 2023, new similar audiences segments will stop being generated, and existing similar audiences segments will no longer be added to campaigns and ad groups on Google Ads and Display & Video 360. Ad groups and campaigns that already have similar audiences segments attached will continue to function as expected.
  • From August 2023, similar audiences segments will be removed from all ad groups and campaigns. You will continue to have access to historical reporting data for similar audiences segments from past campaigns.

Google search has added new ways to find deals while shopping – Google mentions that they have a few new ways to find and use online deals while searching for products and holiday gifts this season. The updates include coupons that you can click and promotion codes, a way to compare deals side-by-side and a new price insights view.

  1. Coupons that can be clicked and promotion codes are no longer just on those spammy coupon code websites, but now also on Google Search.
  2. Side by side comparison of deals.
  3. Price insights that show you one merchant’s price compares to others’ and whether it’s low, typical or high for that product.

Bing Update

Microsoft advertising performance max import tool has been upgraded – Microsoft Advertising has mentioned a few upgrades to the Google Ads Performance Max import tool before the holiday season. Though of it is around importing performance max campaigns that use a Merchant Center but not all.

This means that the import tool will import from Google Ads Smart Shopping Campaigns and Local Inventory Ads. Furthermore, Microsoft is testing importing campaigns that do not use Google Merchant Center at all. This involves importing Search campaigns that will create Dynamic Search Ads (DSA).
