Google shopping ads allow user generated images in reviews – Users can now have user-generated images within product reviews. Google ads team state that this allows customers to visually connect through pictures of previous customers wearing or using products. You can simply enable this by adding a new schema to your product feeds for reviewer images. However, this is currently only available on mobile within the US, but there is plans to expand across more Google properties and countries over the coming months, Google said.

Google news application process is stricter – There has been chatter that it is harder to become a Google news source now. A spokesman from Google mentions they know that Google News applications have to go through a stricter process to get accepted these days, and that the bar has been set higher.

Google my business photos support GIFs – You may have seen examples of a business listing in Google maps or within your own business showing animated GIFs for business photos. So it seems that you can upload animated GIFs to your Google my business profile and those on mobile looking at your local listing may see the GIFs.

Adsense auto ads has become easier & improved – Adsense is now easier to use and has better controls to customize the ad experience for your users. Although adSense’s auto ads was a beta testing in 2017, which then was out if it couple months later, but now they are looking to make these automated ads even easier.

They mention that they have made the set up much easier with more flexible customizations and better reporting. Below are some of the changes:

  • Auto ads – it now work through any AdSense ad unit code
  • New sites – You canadd them in the Sites page by copy & paste the AdSense code and turn on Auto ads
  • Page exclusions – You can exclude individual pages or entire sections of your website you don’t want to use
  • Full summary – You can see in Auto ads settings the full summary of your websites
  • Preview – You can see how auto ads look on your website before it goes live
  • Placement – You can delete specific ad placements and Auto ads will immediately generate a placement in a new location for you to review
  • Ad formats – You can easily specify the Ad formats that Auto ads places on your website
  • Ad load slider – You can control the number of Auto ads you’d like to show on your pages
